I still have doubts in the Rollup temp space requirement area. Ensure you have enough free space to perform a rollup. As a rule of thumb, allocate a minimum of 1.25 times the size of the base image for the rollup process.
Rollup operations are reduced to metadata operations from disk intensive operations because the rollup no longer moves data but only moves the records.
So I am not sure if there is need to always have free temp space for rollup equal to biggest base image or it is not necessary. That is big difference in sizing storage when considering backup for 15TB volume. Even with 30% dedup it's still 12TB of free space that has to be on the storage, and this space can not be used for anything else.
Is that mean that considering 15TB volume there is big chance that repository will fill up and only way to continue protecting volume will be shortening retention period?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
